PARADISE COWBOY POETRY AND DUTCH OVEN COOK-OFF

Teams of chefs fire up their briquettes and compete to turn out the winning bread, main dish, and dessert. A cash prize and plaque are awarded for the best dish in each category. After the judging, all the food can be sampled for only $5.

The museum grounds open at 10:00 a.m., allowing spectators ample time to watch the cooks, try for a winning raffle ticket, and listen to the live music and cowboy poetry. There is plenty of food, cold brews for adults, and ice cream and soft drinks for everyone.

PARADISE POW WOW

Emily Prosser Dedication

The Paradise Pow Wow at the Gold Nugget Museum highlights Native American Drum, Song and Dance, as well as basket weavers, local Native Artisans, beadwork, raffles and food booths.

The Paradise POW WOW committee strives to:

  • Honor our past by respecting the wisdom of our elders,
  • Encourage our youth by providing educational scholarships,
  • Educate the community about Native American culture and
  • Promote native traditions through song, dance and drum.

Days of Living History

Each fall, the Gold Nugget Museum presents two days of living history for the community. As many as forty simultaneous events on the Museum grounds offer hands-on activities, demonstrations and recreations of 100 years of Paradise Ridge history to the delight and education of youngsters and grownups.
