Living History School Program

Paradise Gold Nugget Museum School Program

Since 1994, fifty or more third, fourth and fifth grade classes from schools all over the North Valley come to the museum each year to recreate the settler experience. They come from March to early June, two classes at a time. Teachers begin signing up for the program by early fall, some as soon as they have completed the previous year's program.

Maidu Living History School Program

drilling

The Maidu Living History School Program,, modeled on the settler program, was initiated in fall 2006. It has been an instant success, with teachers from all over the North Valley calling to enroll their classes—many for this year, and as the word spread, many more for next year. The program was developed with the cooperation and financial support of the Maidu community.

Days of Living History

Each fall, the Gold Nugget Museum presents two days of living history for the community. As many as forty simultaneous events on the Museum grounds offer hands-on activities, demonstrations and recreations of 100 years of Paradise Ridge history to the delight and education of youngsters and grownups.
